Seventy-five weeks ago, I embarked on a journey to share my passion for interior design through a podcast<\/a>. What began on September 1, 2023, has blossomed into a weekly ritual of storytelling, insight, and connection. Eleven weeks ago, I expanded this venture into the visual realm with a YouTube channel<\/a>, bringing the world of interiors to life in a new dimension. Yet, amidst the discussions of design principles and project highlights, I realized I had scarcely shared the story behind the designer, me.<\/h5>\n

The Genesis: From Galicia to Global Design<\/h5>\n
My roots trace back to the verdant landscapes of Galicia, specifically Ourense, where the rhythms of construction and creation were the backdrop of my upbringing. As the daughter and granddaughter of Modesto Prada, both deeply entrenched in the construction industry, the language of building was second nature. While their focus was on the structural and technical, my path veered towards the aesthetic and experiential facets of spaces.<\/h5>\n

Educational Foundations: Bridging Technique and Aesthetics<\/h5>\n
My academic journey began with a degree in Technical Architecture, and Building engineering providing a solid foundation in the structural aspects of building. This technical grounding was further enriched by studies in Interior Design at IADE Madrid, located on the elegant Calle Claudio Coello. Recognizing the importance of historical context, I pursued a master’s in the Restoration and Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. This blend of technical proficiency and design sensitivity has been instrumental in shaping my holistic approach to interiors.<\/h5>\n

The Inaugural Project: Innovation at the Hip\u00f3dromo de la Zarzuela<\/h5>\n
My first professional foray into design was the rehabilitation of stables A and C at Madrid’s Hip\u00f3dromo de la Zarzuela, in collaboration with Tragsa and Tragsatec. A vivid memory from this project is the implementation of foot-operated taps\u2014an idea born from observing the practical needs of those working with horses. This early experience underscored the importance of marrying functionality with thoughtful design.<\/h5>\n

While I didn’t have a formal mentor, the influence of my father and grandfather was profound.
